Pine cones, Prada and the Pope.

Mom decided to move her pine cones to the living room table to make way for the floral centre piece she bought at the local florist. So much for family tradition.

And we had our Christmas turkey! Mom roasted the turkey she brought all the way from Kuching (read: Mom instructed the maid to roast the turkey the maid carried all the way from Kuching), and honestly, there was way too much food. Another family tradition at Christmas.

Every Christmas, the family would sit down to a formal dinner, but this year Mom had decided to invite guests, so we had to do the buffet thing. Dad, being the old war horse that he is, raised an eyebrow but Mom told him to make do.

And in other news, the Pope bashed gay relationships and marriages in his Christmas address. Read all about it at Towleroad. However, rumour has it that this very same Pope, who prefers red Prada shoes, might actually prefer boys too.

To read more about outlandish speculation that His Holiness is gay, go here. For pics of His Holiness' supposed bf (pictured below), go here.

As a gay Christian, the last thing I want to be reminded of at Christmas time is the Church telling me in no uncertain terms that I am an unworthy sinner, a 2nd class citizen. Then again, as far as the Church is concerned, the term 'gay Christian' is an oxymoron. I wonder what God must think of His Church spreading such hate.
